About
I’m Kory Lawson Ching, and I’m an assistant professor of English at a large public university on the west coast. I recently got my PhD in English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I teach college writing courses, and I also do research in a field that sometimes goes by the name of “composition studies” or “writing studies.” I’m especially interested in how response to writing (like teachers’ comments on student papers, or peer response groups) shapes literate practices.
Most of the writing I do these days is academic, so I started this blog so that I could write about my teaching and other issues I don’t get a chance to discuss often in my other writing.
Here’s a link to my curriculum vitae.
