I’m Kory Lawson Ching, and I’m an assistant professor of English at a large public university on the west coast. I teach undergraduate writing courses and graduate courses in pedagogy, rhetoric, technology, and qualitative research methods. I also do scholarship and research in a field that sometimes goes by the name of “composition studies” or “writing studies.”

Most of the writing I do these days is academic, so I started this blog so that I could write about my teaching and other issues I don’t get a chance to discuss often in my other writing.
